This plant hails from Paraguay and northeastern Argentina. This is quite a unique specie in both color and form. Its stems are much thinner than a standard Cereus specie, but it’s flowers are large and showy. Incredible blue-green-purple colored stems with very short spines and little tufts of white wool from the areoles, really make this plant stand out. Often producing crested and monstrose stems in some amazing shapes and colors. Truly a great plant to have in ones collection. Large, long tube type white and pink/red flowers.

This may be the most recognizable Copiapoa of the genus. Densely covered in soft white spines, this is certainly a wonderful specie. This plant can be found growing in Northern Mexico (Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa). It is the least *armed* of the genus with very short spines, usually lacking any centrals. Highly prized for its huge showy flowers. Bright yellow with a very contrasting bright green stigma, certainly makes a dramatic impression.
